The Secret Life of Injured Rabbit

From the spring 2007, I planted to work on figures.
The character would be a creature between the human and animal.
Slowlly, this figure became more and more clear.
It became the one what you have seen.
You could call him Injured Rabbit or what ever.

Although I wanted to combine the human and animal.For human, I know well may be just myself. About animals, I don’t know much but homeless cats that lived in my community.

From the very begining I didn’t want to create a character so called “normally”.
There was some subtle feeling about violence and hurt.
Certainly I don’t want to describe too much violence, in fact, I have a mild nature.
I do belive that the duplicating of violence would strayed from the essence of hurt.

The main characters in Disney’s films never die.
The Little Red Riding Hood jumped from Wolf's stomach.
Maybe all the imagination about hurt was the needs of a drama.

受伤兔秘史


2007年春天我开始酝酿着画点有形象的东西。


这个形象应该介乎于人类和动物之间。
慢慢地，一个形象在我脑海中逐渐清晰，最后就形成了你们所看到的样子。
我也不知道该叫他什么。
你可以叫他“受伤兔”或别的什么。

虽说是打算把人的感觉和动物的感觉融合在一起，但是生活中我最熟悉的可能还是自己的模样。而动物呢，虽然我经常能见到狗，野生的隼和喜鹊，但是接触最多的可能还是楼下的几只流浪猫。
从一开始我就不打算画过于正常的形象。
很久以来，有关暴力和受伤的一些微妙感觉一直存在。
当然我不打算画太暴力的内容——我认为以复制暴力的方式表达，会让我们远离伤害的本质,在大多数时间里，我是一个温和的人。

迪斯尼动画片里的主角永远不会死。
小红帽和外婆从大灰狼的肚子里一跃而出。
受伤兔也有迅速恢复的本领——况且他也不会永远受伤。
也许关于伤害与受伤的种种虚构不过是剧情需要。
